Date filters are among the most common criteria in saved searches. You can use fixed dates for historical analysis or dynamic dates that automatically adjust as time passes. Understanding when to use each type is essential for building effective searches.
Specific calendar dates that never change.
Example:
Date is on or after 1/1/2024 AND Date is on or before 3/31/2024
Date ranges that adjust automatically over time.
Example:
Date is within This Fiscal Quarter
NetSuite provides many built-in relative date selectors:
| Operator | Use Case | Example |
|---|---|---|
| is within | Dynamic range | Date is within This Month |
| is on or after | Start date | Date is on or after 1/1/2024 |
| is on or before | End date | Date is on or before 12/31/2024 |
| is | Exact date | Date is 3/15/2024 |
| is not | Exclude date | Date is not 1/1/2024 |
| is empty | No date set | Due Date is empty |
| is not empty | Has date | Ship Date is not empty |
Find invoices where the due date has passed:
| Field | Operator | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Type | is | Invoice |
| Status | is | Open |
| Due Date | is on or before | Yesterday |
This search automatically updates each day to show all invoices with a due date before today.
When selecting dynamic dates, use Quick Filters (Year, Quarter, Month, Week) to narrow the list of selectors. Click the star icon next to frequently used selectors to add them to your Favorites for quick access.
